Welcome to the DLES Fire and Rebuild Blog!

 Good afternoon MSAD33 stakeholders,

Over the past 2 years since we lost Dr. Levesque to a devastating fire, a lot has happened, and a lot remains to happen.  Much of this is discussed with the MSAD33 school board during their monthly school board meetings.  We understand lives are busy, and attending a board meeting once a month isn't the most exciting option for people, so we have tried to update the community by sending several letters over the months so people are aware of what is going on.

In an effort to better communicate with the community, staff, and students, we have created this blog, which will be updated regularly with past and future information pertaining to the school fire, our relocation to Wisdom, and the future of school in MSAD33.  If you are unfamiliar with a blog, it works as a timeline, so that the most recent posts rise to the top of the page, and the older posts fall below.  Please know that we are working diligently on your behalf to make our current situation work; however, we are all in agreement that this current situation is temporary at best.

Please know that we are in constant communication with the State Board of Education to ensure that our school fire qualifies as an Emergency Project, and our school gets rebuilt. Please also know that this process is very slow, as some schools have been on a school construction list for 10+ years, and even when a school project is approved, the timeline from approval to completion is very long.

Regardless, we remain committed to MSAD33 and their long term aspirations to secure the replacement school they deserve so that generations to come will have outstanding educational experiences in MSAD33.

Respectfully,

Ben Sirois
